From American Science and Surplus

American Science and Surplus is a wonderful catalogue that we get at home. It is printed on newsprint and has no photographs, only drawn pictures like the ones you would see in an old sears catalogue.

It was hard for me to pick up and look through it the first time I saw it, but after I started I was hooked. Their item descriptions are pure entertainment, every single one of them! They also sell a huge variety of very strange but interesting things, many that I think can be very useful.

You can visit their online catalogue at http://www.sciplus.com/

Here are a few of their item descriptions from their online catalogue:

White Gloves

For running white glove tests. These are closer to a cream color, and are unused UK military surplus liner gloves for N-B-C suits, but they're nicely made, and would be quite useful as emergency opera-wear if you're in white tie but left your gloves in the Bentley. The men's Lg are labeled 8 to 8-1/2, and will be either 9-1/2" or 13" long (our choice) from fingertip to end of glove. These are also very nice painters/craft gloves for folks allergic to latex. Package of (3) pairs.

Write Like A Pirate

WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD-Small Parts. Not for children under 3 yrs.
Put a little aaaaarrrgh in your signature, me bucko. Our each is a package of (3) resin ballpoint pens, 6-1/2" long with assorted, and very detailed, pirate/skull heads on the top. Very Buccaneers-of-the-Caribbean-ish. Good for everyday use, but essential for drawing treasure maps.

There are so many entertaining items to share, this may just become a regular installment on my blog.
