An Update

As I have mentioned before I have been having several medical issues since Autumns birth. The one that bothers me most is the complete inability to lose the weight I gained while I was pregnant.

I gained 100 lbs, and have only lost 40 lbs, making me 60 lbs over my pre pregnancy weight. After I got the results for my blood work and everything was normal I was very disappointed-as I have mentioned before I have never wanted to find out that I WAS SICK more than I did then, because either way I FEEL sick. I reduced calorie intake again pretty drastically. I was expecting SOME progress when I went to the doctor for my follow up appointment, but I was not so lucky. I weighed ONE POUND less than I did at my last appointment. That is CRAZY- I cut somewhere between 300-500 calories out of my daily intake! That includes not eating anything that has more than 5g of fat or any red meat or pork.

The doctor has put in a referral for an endocrinologist so hopefully going to see a specialist will shine some light on the subject. I know that something is wrong. I keep convincing myself that maybe if I do this or that it will make a difference, but I have made HUGE changes in my lifestyle and diet- which were both already healthy- and I have not any weight since my 6 week check up wiht my gyno.

Fortunately I have the most amazing daughter to show for it, and a very supportive husband.

Duke City Derby is Homeless Again!

WE had some excitement at the beginning of the skating season when Duke City Derby started skating at the Santa Ana star center, especially after two seasons at midnight rodeo, which can best be described as a death trap. We had more people show up to Santa Ana games than any of our games at midnight rodeo but the long drive to nowhere didn't draw the crowds that we needed to pay back Santa Ana and DCD went massively in debt because of it. I am glad that I got to play one game there after I got back from portland. (SPEAKING OF DCD BEING MASSIVELY IN DEBT WE ARE HAVING AN ART SHOW FUNDRAISER AT BLACKBIRD BUVETTE THIS MONTH AND I WILL BE DONATING ART, those in burque should check it out)

Anyway, we are not going to play at Santa Ana Star center any more. That's fine... except for one thing... WHERE WILL WE PLAY?

All is not lost though, I have several games schedualed. Taos, Portland, Kansas... and I am sure I am forgetting some. There is a game coming up in Tucson, but I am not going to that one. (work, baby... you know... pretending my life does not revolve around roller derby-even though it does)

In other news, DCD is now inactive. I wise woman once said "Fuck the WFTDA" and I am kind of feeling that right now.

I am really confused about my post baby body. I work out really hard, and often. I exercise daily. I include aerobic and aerobic activities into my exercise routine almost every day. I eat a pretty balanced diet. I am about as healthy as I was Before Autumn was born... yet I am still really fat. I don't get it. I am not sure how much of the baby weight I have lost, or how much I have left. I gained about 90 lbs during my pregnancy, which I also can't really explain. When I went in for my 6 week check-up I had lost about 40 lbs. Now I know I am have lost at least 10 more pounds, and possibly more, but I am far to active to be retaining weight like this, and really, the extra lbs are getting in the way. I am not as flexible as I used to be.

On top of all of this, I am severely depressed and very moody. I also got a sunburn for the first time in about 10 years last week. I can't think clearly most of the time. I feel dizzy or disoriented when I try to move fast, or get up quickly. I feel painfully tired all of the time.

I have been guessing that my hormone levels were a little off after having a baby, and wasn't sure if that was normal, as it is only 7 months out. I don't know what exactly the conversation was based around, but Adam's mom suggested that I see an endocrinologist, or hormone specialist. That is a good Idea, but I am not sure when that will look feasible now that we are moving back to Albuquerque.
