Family Walks

Family walks don't happen quite as often as they should, but we do try.
Not far from the house there is a "lateral". Laterals are turn-outs from the main irrigation channels of the Rio Grande. They are opened in the spring to feed water to the little ranchitos that are abundant in our area. They also make very nice little walking paths.

Autumn enjoys the walks, and was fond of this graffiti until it was covered up.

Erica and I enjoy them also, but the pace is definitely a little slower with Autumn.

We'll probably be taking fewer walks for a while since Erica will be expanding for the next few months, and then we will have an additional non-walking family member.

Sometimes Autumn needs to take a break from walking.

Daddy getting older.

Autumn being cute.

Planning a first....

Autumns first birthday is in about a month! I am planning a party but I have never done this before! I would love suggestions!

Also, I am interested in buying gifts and party supplies but just searching on etsy is like an abyss, so any suggestions there would be highly apreciated!

Also, she is a very big, TALL baby.

Oh! last night was exciting! She WALKED! She has taken a few steps here and there many times, but last night she walked about 12 feet! She was trying to chase a cat!

My cute baby!

Just appreciating what I dont have...

As I rode my bike in to work this morning, even though I have a nasty cold, It felt SO good. I also think it is fun. I really love that we only have one car, and that I practically never have to drive it. I like looking back and waving to my grinning baby girl, who I tow in a little red bike cart behind me.

I also like biking to work, and occasionally other places because it means that if Roller derby practice is rained out- or I can't go for some other reason- I don't feel gross because I didn't get any exercise that day. I do still feel kind of yucky if I miss more than one day of skating.

I really stopped driving because I HATE driving. I can appreciate all of the other benefits- the non selfish ones like reduced pollution and traffic congestion- that come with alternative modes of transportation. I am also glad that Albuquerque is not too big, so getting around on a bike sometimes is pretty easy.

Pictures of Autumn

Autumn is Crawling...er walking... like a cat. Silly little cutie.

Autumn is a future roller girl, no doubt! The first picture she is checking out my skates, and in the second picture she is trying on daddy's new helmet. Adam Also got new skates and will be reffing when he gets back to Albuquerque. I LOVE DUKE CITY DERBY! Also, the cute headband that autumn is wearing is available in our store http://AcrylicAndSteel.etsy.com Autumn is an excellent model.

Aren't autumns little teeth amazingly cute? I made the hat that she is wearing as a gift for someone.

Autumn loves her Paddington Bear Mobile. She looks like she is going to be blond, at least in the early years.

Autumn is modeling a bag for mommy. She looks so sophisticated. This cute outfit is from Grandma Ginny. This bag is in our etsy store. http://AcrylicAndSteel.etsy.com
